Orions in a “Cool” Substation in Seattle

PUBLISHED ON Sep 27, 2019

Electrical substations are not normally described as “Cool,” but that’s what Seattle City Light has called their recently energized “Denny” substation. This substation is a critical, large substation in downtown Seattle and is monitored by two OrionLX CPX Automation Platforms. Orion was selected over the competition for ease of use, support, and flexibility. Rural substations normally are ordinary, fenced-in affairs, but this one looks more like a Stealth Bomber than a substation. Please read the full Energy Central article describing the substation by clicking here and watch the video, which was shown at a Denny Substation Community Celebration event.
