Interactive Procedure Suite (IPS)
By integrating SOPs and emergency recovery procedures into the process automation system, Interactive Procedure Suite (IPS) ensures consistent and safe execution of every procedure, creates executed procedure records for documentation and compliance requirements, and provides a faster way to train operators on new procedures.
Interactive Procedure Suite Functions
IPS allows users to collaborate on visual flow charts that generate a Procedure Overview Display (POD), automation code for the D/3® DCS or OPC for PLCs, and traditional hardcopy SOPs in a fast, intuitive workflow.

Design Procedures in Visio®
IPS allows users to collaborate on visual flow charts that generate a Procedure Overview Display (POD), automation code for the D/3 DCS or OPC for PLCs, and traditional hardcopy SOPs in a fast, intuitive workflow.
Generate Automation Code
Visio flowcharts are converted into Sequence and Batch Language (SABL®) automation code for the D/3® DCS or any other control system through the OPC (OLE for Process Control) for PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) standard. Users can further customize the SABL output with drop-down menus and input strings to create more intricate control routines.
Execute Procedures Through Control System
A Procedure Overview Display (POD) allows both manual and automatic execution of procedures through the control system in an intuitive tree-format checklist. Operators and Supervisors are prompted to enter information and approve various steps of the process. These inputs and other system dynamics pulled from the control system to adjust the checklist automatically. For instance, an alarm can automatically open a rarely executed shutdown procedure, allowing flawless correction of a potentially hazardous event.
Automated Accountability: Documentation and Compliance Record
IPS creates secure ISO and 21 CFR Part 11-Compliant PDF records of every executed procedure.
Reverse Engineer Existing Procedures
Existing procedures can be imported to the Visio workspace through a simple cut-and-paste process. Procedures that exist only in hardcopy can be scanned, OCR traced, and imported into IPS.
