Features Include Cascading Orions, Improved Distribution Automation, Single Configuration Software for All Orions

NovaTech is pleased to announce the release of two major firmware and software enhancements to the Orion Substation Automation Platform product family: OrionLX Firmware Release 5.1 and NCD3. These two releases, along with updated OrionLX documentation, provide significant enhancements to the overall Orion experience and are shipping with all new Orions.
OrionLX Firmware 5.1 Features
• Cascaded OrionLXs, allowing for the configuration of complex systems including up to six OrionLX units as a simplified, cohesive system without the need to map points between units
• Enhanced Distribution Automation
• Scheduled CSV file generation for retrieval of archived data
• WEBserver GUI SVG upgrades, allowing for an HMI application to be tightly integrated with the OrionLX's standard diagnostic web GUI
• Optional configuration of a protected console session on rear port B for iDial support
NCD3 Features
• A new “container” completely rewritten to utilize .NET framework
• Harmonization of all previous versions of NCD, so a single NCD version now supports all Orions
• Support for Cascaded OrionLXs
• Ability to open multiple NCD files, and to transfer Master ports from one file to another
• An integrated file conversion utility enabling your Orion16/Orion5/Orion5r NCD files to run in your new Orion5rL/OrionLX
• A file compare utility to highlight file changes
• Proxy server support for the NCD Automatic Updater
The PC running NCD must meet the following requirements:
• Windows XP Pro, Vista, Windows 7
• .NET 3.5
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or later or Firefox
• Graphics resolution 1024x768 or better
• CD/DVD Drive
• Ethernet port
