Systems Engineer – Lenexa, Kansas

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team in Lenexa, KS. To perform a variety of engineering duties such as design, design specifications, software and hardware development, troubleshooting, integration and maintenance tasks required to build or support SCADA/Automation projects in the electric utility environments. There are also opportunities to work with clients on improving their security functions including asset management, credential management and other cyber security functions. Client interaction is also a key function in this position along with project management. Work is performed using well-defined procedures and client direction in a team environment, with moderate level of evaluation or supervision.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • Hardware skills in troubleshooting communication problems
  • 1-3 years experience in Utility Industry and/or SCADA
  • Minimum one year experience with project management in automation and controls, demonstrating project management skills in scoping, scheduling and tracking projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, team oriented, results driven
  • Able to mentor knowledge to other Engineers, Sales Force and Customers
  • Experience with substation RTUs/IO devices/IEDs

Software Design Engineer (Web Developer) – Lenexa, KS

NovaTech is seeking an innovative web developer for our OrionLX product line. The OrionLX is an embedded controller platform that serves web pages for configuration, diagnostics, and user designed graphical displays. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in web development and will use good engineering practices.

Desired experience includes:

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with 5 plus years of specific career experience
  • Expert knowledge of the Python, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Highly motivated to create visually appealing and user friendly web pages for NovaTech products and customer support site
  • Experience with cross browser development and testing
  • Ability to update and enhance existing code base
  • Working knowledge of Linux and version control software
  • Knowledge of Coffeescript, PostgreSQL, Django, Inkscape, and security practices a plus
  • Automated functional and unit testing a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in all stages of product web development from concept to implementation to maintenance.

Technical Support and Testing Engineer- Lenexa, KS

We are looking for a Technical Support and Testing Engineer to join our team in Lenexa, KS.   This position will handle technical support inquiries directly from customers and work with those customers to resolve their issues, replicate field issue in order to resolve, and work with the systems, programming and testing groups to set up and monitor hardware and software tests. Work is performed using defined procedures and in a team environment, with a direct level of evaluation or supervision.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

Sales Engineer – Flexible Location

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to provide support for various sales and marketing activities as necessary. This will generally include review of product and application documentation, provision of content for marketing materials, provision of content and pricing for customer system proposals, trade show attendance and exhibition support, sales support for customer demonstrations, and customer training. Extensive travel is required.

Requirements:

  • Understand capability and application of Orion and Bitronics branded products
  • Consult and negotiate with customers on technical issues, as required
  • Participate in Bid & Proposal activity
  • Develop and deliver product demonstrations as needed
  • Support field sales in customer presentations and at trade events and other product exhibit opportunities
  • Provide technical support to sales team during the sales cycle
  • Support sales team on technical elements of RFIs/RFPs

  • 4+ years directly related electric utility automation experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Field/Applications Engineer – Peoria, IL

We are looking for a Field/Applications Engineer to join our team in the Peoria, IL area. The position includes analyzing customer system and subsystem needs and designing solutions using NovaTech products, application design documents and requirements specifications. Significant direct customer interaction at all stages of project work. Travel is required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • 2-4 years directly related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with plant instrumentation, control and automation practices.
  • Distributed Control Systems (DCS) experience is required, D/3 preferred.
  • Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Project, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – both written and oral.

 

Sales Account Manager– West

We are looking for an Account Manager who will partner with the Regional Sales Manager to ensure the long-term satisfaction of our customers in the Electric Utility industry, specifically the sale of substation automation equipment.   Account Manager will be responsible for managing existing tier-two customers and developing new customers in the region.  You will liaise between customers and the internal engineering support team to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of account management or other relevant experience in substation automation
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
